Dr. Wiese joined the practice in November 2019. She has a degree in psychology with an emphasis in animal behavior and a DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is Fear Free Level 2 and Pet Nutrition Coach certified.
She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was 6 years old, and she started volunteering at shelters at 13. Her first job was as a kennel technician/veterinary assistant when she was 15. She has been in the veterinary field for 15 years.
Dr. Wiese has a Shih Tzu/Yorkie (Shorkie) named Brutus, given to her by her parents as an engagement present. Brutus was the ringbearer at her wedding. She also has a cat named Caesar, who was brought to her first clinic with a fractured leg. After repairing his fracture, she adopted him, and he is best friends with Brutus (despite the names).
In her free time, Dr. Wiese loves to bake. Her specialties are cupcakes and cakes, and in college, she sold cakes for extra money. She enjoys reading fiction, nonfiction and biographies. Her favorite play is Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She and her husband Morgan have built bookcases, trunks and patio furniture, and they spend a lot of time together remodeling their home.
